Pool Sessions
I now have a lane in Bushey Grove pool in Hertfordshire. Sessions are for 1 hour at 20:15. I will be covering technique, stroke efficiency as well as building confidence and swim fitness with drills and sets. Prices are £6 per session or book 10 sessions for £50. My name is Paul Jackson. I am a level 2 STA/NOWCA Open Water Coach based in Watford, Hertfordshire. I have taken part in many swim based events such as Triathlons, Swim Serpentine, Jubilee River 10k swim, the Thames Marathon (13k) and in September 2020 I completed an English Channel Relay crossing.
I have seen the positive affects of Introducing people to open water swimming and it is something I want to share.
For nervous first timers I can introduce you to open water in a structured and safe way at a local lake, together we will build your confidence and in a short time you will feel able to swim at an organised venue.
For pool swimmers I can work with you to convert your pool swimming to open water and start your open water swimming journey.
For confident pool swimmers who want to develop your skills, I can perform a stroke analysis and together we can work on your technique and build in some efficiencies. We will build your endurance and improve your pace.
I am now working with Tri wetsuit hire. Hiring a wetsuit will suit those of you who are not ready to commit to a particular brand or size. This is a much more cost effective way of finding out what is best for you, you can even hire a suit for the season and hand it back in winter! I am often asked about what the best changing robes are. This is almost impossible to answer as there is so much choice. I use a Charlie McCloud robe but there are many more out there. Tri Wetsuit hire are able to offer excellent deals on these too.

ASPIRE BULLDOGS CHANNEL RELAY
On the 5th of September 2021, the Aspire Bulldogs Channel relay team completed a Channel relay swim. After months of training, in sea water as cold as 10 degrees C (without wetsuits!) we completed the swim in 13 hours 31 minutes. As a team we raised over £24,000 for the Aspire Spinal charity.
